Testimonials are being received regularly by Facilitators working in all
parts of the UK, making it very clear that it is not just in the areas
of reading, spelling, writing and Maths that clients are experiencing
improvement. Because the programme is holistic, and the causes
of the dyslexia are addressed, issues of self-esteem and emotional
well-being are understood and dealt with.
Terence,
aged 27, was working as a hairdresser whilst also studying at a College
of Further Education in order to go on to university and study
Pharmacology. Having been dubbed ‘stupid’ at school, Terence
nevertheless knew that he had ability and an enormous amount to offer
and he also had a burning ambition to go into Pharmacology. Dyslexic,
but able to gain meaning from written text quite successfully, he
suffered from a basic lack of numerical understanding. None of the
methods offered by the College helped and Terence was also frustrated by
the lack of understanding by all the tutors he dealt with. He came
across the book ‘The Gift of Dyslexia’ and found everything that it said
so appropriate to his situation that he was fired with determination to
have a Davis Maths programme himself. He got in touch with his local
facilitator, Christine East, and after the programme wrote a heartfelt
letter which ended as follows:
”I believe that now that after
completing the Ron Davis program nothing can stand in my way, I have so
much confidence that I can finish my master degree in pharmacology….
Every dyslexic can be corrected if they have the determination to be
corrected.”
Other testimonials from clients of Christine:
When asked
what changes had occurred in the week of the programme, Colin, aged 44,
said:
“(I
have) better focus – it’s unlocked a creativity – I’ve more energy –
things don’t worry me and I find it easier to relax so I feel I’m
probably easier to live with. I don’t think I create negative
atmospheres any more. Work situation – when it’s overwhelming, I’m able
to go and orientate, release and use energy dial to calm and then go and
create ‘order’.”
Jake, aged
15, said:
“I
can concentrate on things better. Hold a conversation with one person in
a crowded room. I can listen better and hear what they say. I also have
more patience.”
Paul, aged
15, said:
"I
can read more. I get less stuck on words than I used to. I enjoy reading
more than I used to. Feel more confident.”
These
are the sort of comments that are received over and over again by Davis
Facilitators around the country.
